New to sewing or looking to build your confidence? This hands-on sewing workshop is the perfect place to start.

Designed for complete beginners (or anyone who'd like a refresher), you'll learn the essential sewing machine skills needed to create your very own lined tote bag using second hand, sustainable fabrics.

With step-by-step guidance throughout, you'll leave feeling confident and ready to take on your next sewing project.

During the workshop, you'll learn how to:

  • Thread a sewing machine with confidence.

  • Wind and insert a bobbin.

  • Sew straight seams and pivot neatly around corners.

  • Understand and use seam allowances.

  • Pin, cut and prepare your fabric accurately.

  • Read and follow a simple sewing pattern.

  • Construct and finish a practical tote bag to take home.

No previous sewing experience is required, and all tuition is delivered in a relaxed, supportive environment. By the end of the session, you'll have mastered the basics of machine sewing and created a handmade tote bag you'll be proud to use.
